Live Ledge #180: Best of 2014

It's the end of a long, long year. Personally, there were many ups and downs, but musically this has been extremely intersting. Many big names disappointed with their 2014 releases, but so many more exceeded expecatation or seemingly came out of nowhere. Tonight's show is a countdown of the majority of my 40 favorite records of the year. For timing sake, a few things were eliminated, yet I still ran over my two hour broadcast time. For a full recap of my list, please check out my article HERE.
This is definitely a show worthy checking out, and you can grab it at the usual online sources or...

Live Ledge #179: Best 2014 Reissues

It's the time of year where everybody puts together end of the year lists. I'm no exception, and I've been doing them since the early 90's. Tonight's show compiles music from the best reissues, box sets, tribute albums, live releases, and other odds and ends. You can read my reasoning behind all of these choices HERE. Next week I'll count down the 40 best new releases of the year.
As always, you can grab this show from iTunes or stream it on Stitcher, or...

Live Ledge #178: Flogging Molly

With Flogging Molly hitting our fine little city this weekend, I had the opportunity to chat with mandolin/banjo player Bob Schmidt. It was a great little interviewer, starting with his love of playing around with any instrument up through the formation of the band, before ending with their plans to hit the studio sometime next year for a brand new album.
After that segment, I have a little tribute to Ian McLagan and Bobby Keys, who both passed away this week. Finally, there's a full hour of brand new releases, along with a bit of commentary on that insipid list of best albums that Rolling Stone published this week.
You can grab this episode from the usual sources, or...
