Live Ledge #119: Richie Ramone

This may go down as my favorite show that I've ever done. I had high hopes for my interview with former Ramones drummer Richie Ramone, but what happened far exceeded my expectations. Richie talked about his entire career, from first picking up a drum at the age of four to his upcoming new album, Entitled (due October 8). He couldn't have been more honest, even when talking about his departure from the band or his (non)-relationship with his successor, Marky. I must give a big thanks to Richie for spending time on my show.
We also previewed a handful of songs from Entitled, along with songs that Richie wrote for The Ramones. Add to that a handful of Ramones covers from the likes of The Hellacopters, Graham Parker, Shonen Knife, and many more, and you have a show that is definitely worth your listening time.
Grab this offering from the usual online spots, such as iTunes and Stitcher, or...

Note: At Richie’s request, the tracks from the upcoming album, which will be available via iTunes on September 17, have been removed from the show.

I'm so sorry if I'm bothering you, but I saw a comment of yours in another blog saying that you had recorded some Trip Shakespeare show from years ago. I'm a big fan of the band and I'm trying to collect some bootlegs of the band. Do you still have that recording? Please, let me know. Here is my email adress: hinafu@gmail.com

Thanks!

the Jazzfest media reports are in and I found the following very telling of the situation. Keloland reported the 70-80k # as an prediction by the festival representative they interviewed. Argus Leader reported that same # as a crowd estimate during Crow's performance. care to weigh in ?

I'm always embarrassed by the inflation of the numbers. It's a successful event. Why not be honest about it?
