Comments
1960-1964: Beach Boys, and a long list of great African American artists in rock and jazz that started rock as we know it. Sinatra was better during these years. (Elvis movie music)
1964-1971: Beatles and Stones (every album by these guys). All things Simon & Garfunkel, Hendrix, Doors, etc
1971-1975: Albums by- Guess Who, Deep Purple, Sabbath, BTO, Blue Oyster Cult (was a favorite band).
1972-1976: Nazareth, Nugent, Fleetwood Mac
Bands that ruled the '70's Airwaves: Eagles, Doobies, Aerosmith
1978: Van Halen, Journey and Jackson Brown albums
1979-80; Led Zep "In Through the Out Door"
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
Eagles "Long Run"
The early '80's: Lot of the bands featured on MTV (even though I hated them at the time - I now find them endearing). Heart and Journey reached their peak.
1984-1989: All the hard rock (glam rock) bands. LA influence was great.
1990-92: Van Halen, Ozzy, assorted counter culture
1993: Joe Satriani "The Extremist"
After this...the total number of albums is too numerous. Too many influences after this point. Not much that I don't like after '93.
