Rural Ledge-ucation #66: Happy Birthday Joe Strummer

This Tuesday, August 21, Joe Strummer would have been 60 years old. It's only fitting that today's show is a tribute to him, and we're focusing only on his post-Clash career. Along with collaborations with Big Audio Dynamite, Johnny Cash, and The Pogues, there are also tracks from the numerous film soundtracks he worked on, and, obviously, tunes from his final solo albums with the Mescaleros. The conclusion of the show includes the three songs he performed with Clash guitarist Mick Jones just a few weeks before his death. It was their first onstage collaboration since Jones was dismissed from the band in 1983, and unfortunately it would be their last time together.
