The Ledge #482: Record Store Day
The joke may be that every day is record store day for this goofball, but it is a fact that I do love almost everything about the actual Record Store Day event. Or events, as the last couple of years the event has been split up into multiple days.
This year is no different. The first round was on June 12; the second half is toorrow (July 17). Tonight's show is a mix of releases from both of the events, and once agai is a show featuring 55 years of great rock and roll. There's some good old standard reissues, but there's also a plethora of demos, outtakes, alternate mixes, and more than a few cover tunes.
I would love it if every listener bought at least one record I played on either of these shows. These great artists deserve to be compensated for their hard work, and every purchase surely helps not only pay their bills but fund their next set of wonderful songs. And if you buy these records directly from the artist or label, please let them know you heard these tunes on The Ledge! Let them know who is giving them promotion! You can find this show at almost any podcast site, including iTunes and Stitcher...or
