Live Ledge #123: Replacements Roundtable

Last Sunday night, The Replacements performed together for the first time in over 22 years. Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson were joined by Josh Freese on drums and Dave Minehan on guitar, and they whipped through an amazing eight minute set at Riotfest in Toronto.
I wasn't able to attend the show, but plenty of my friends did. Tonight, a few of them sat in with me to talk about the show. Director Gorman Bechard, author Caryn Rose, Boston music blogger Brad Searles, and music fan Jason Loeb chatted about a number of different topics surrounding the show, including the setlist, musical surprises, and the excitable feelings they felt before, during, and after the show.
Admittedly, we had a few technical issues with Skype, but isn't that the point when it comes to The Replacements? It was a fantastic (almost) two hour chat, interspersed with some of Brad's recordings from the show. Thanks again to Gorman, Caryn, Brad, and Jason for helping me out tonight!
