Live Ledge #362: 2018 Runner Ups

Earlier this month I posted a screenshot of the records in consideration for last week's best of 2018 episode. Weeks were spent adding and subtracting records from that list before finally narrowing it down to the 40 posted last week.

In a year of so many great records, not making my final list is not a discredit to their quality. No way. Some of them honestly needed a few more hours of indulgement on my part. Some of them were just missing a song or two that would cause it to jump ahead of the pack. The arguments are there for each and every one of them.

This week's show is a sampling of many of these records. Come on. Everybody knows I love Ray Davies! And the Bottle Rockets, Holly Golightly, Mudhoney, and so many more. I have a feeling quite a few of you will actually prefer this week's collection of "runner ups".
