Live Ledge #67: 1977

What a great year. After a period of ho-hum corporate rock some new noises finally made its way out of cities such as New York, London, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Melbourne. No long guitar solos (or solos at all), no giant stage shows. Just three minutes of power and attitude and they were done.
Tonight's show celebrates that great year that saw the first D.I.Y. releases (The Saints and The Buzzcocks), the first TV bans (Elvis Costello on SNL and The Sex Pistols on The Bill Grundy Show), and the first REAL female rock 'n' roll band (Runaways). There's so many essential tunes from 1977 that next week will see a second show of tracks from that year.
This is a must-have episode, so grab this in the iTunes store, stream it on Stitcher, or...
